Tokyo Skytree Town will host its New Year celebration from December 26, 2025 to January 7, 2026. The event features special tower lighting, first-sunrise viewing, traditional performances, and a new food festival.

During the period, Tokyo Skytree will shine in a New Year lighting inspired by the Japanese flag. On the upper section of the Tembo Deck, a “Happy New Year!” message will be projected using laser mapping.

First Sunrise from the Observatory

On January 1, 2026, the tower will hold a special early-morning opening for visitors to watch the first sunrise of the year. Guests can view the sunrise from both the Tembo Deck and the Tembo Galleria, welcoming the new year with a clear view of the morning light rising over Tokyo.

A New Food Festival at Solamachi

The “Tokyo Solamachi National Umamimono Nakamise Festival” will take place for the first time during the New Year period. Regional dishes and B-class gourmet foods from across Japan will be served in a festive setting decorated with traditional umbrellas and kadomatsu.

Highlights include:

• Kyoto’s popular curry bread
• Simple “oyaki” dumplings from Ogawa Village in Nagano
• A two-tone azuki and matcha latte from Tsujiri Ipponten

New Year Performances and Activities

Visitors can also enjoy:

• Lion dance performances
• A “strength challenge” with sumo wrestlers
• Greetings from Sorakara-chan dressed in New Year attire
• A kagami-biraki performance by comedians Timondi Takagishi and Tokyo Hoteison
