A big slice of Taiwan is coming to central Tokyo. Taiwan Faasai 2025 will turn Ueno Park’s Fountain Square into a lively night market for three days, from Friday, August 29 to Sunday, August 31, 2025. Expect street food, stage shows, games, and a market full of Taiwan goods. Hours are 11:00–21:00 (Sunday until 20:00). The venue is Ueno Onshi Park, Takenodai Fountain area, a short walk from Ueno Station. The event goes ahead in light rain and will stop only in severe weather.
What to Eat
Vendors will serve many Taiwan favorites. Look for xiao long bao, lu rou fan (braised pork rice), da ji pai (giant fried chicken steak), pepper buns, oyster omelets, Taiwan fried noodles, grilled squid, and mango shaved ice. You’ll also find bubble tea, almond tofu desserts, Taiwan doughnuts, and gua bao (Taiwan pork belly buns).

What to See And Do
The festival plans lion dance performances and appearances by the lively San Tai Zi (Third Prince) mascot. There are games like target shooting, fortune-telling (tarot, palm reading), and calligraphy “luck” art. A stage program features acts across all three days; check times on the official site before you go.
