You2, an emerging artist based in Tokyo, held his second solo exhibition “Precinct” at the gallery COMPLEXBOOST in Nakameguro, Tokyo.

You2 was born in Osaka in 1999 and spent his childhood in Kyushu, but after graduating from high school he returned to Osaka to start his career as an artist. You2 has been dismantling skate shoes worn out by himself and others and reconstructing them as collages, embodying the inspiration that comes from his daily life.

In “Precinct”, he uses his signature shoes to express some kind of force of attraction, such as the science of gravity, space and time, the senses of happiness, fear, tension and intuition, and the thoughts and feelings that people have. By confronting these forces, each of which can certainly be felt but cannot be observed with the eye, he creates a new interpretation of them in three dimensions.
