Philocoffea, the speciality coffee brand led by world Brewers Cup champion Tetsu Kasuya, opened its first Tokyo shop in the new GREEN TERRACE Omotesando complex on March 21, 2025. The basement space has a low, cave-like feel and a quiet barista counter where Kasuya’s hand-drip method is the focus.
The shop brings beans Kasuya selects and roasts himself, and serves single-origin pours and a rotating “TOKYO BLEND” made for hand-drip extraction. Expect carefully tuned brews such as the hand-drip TOKYO BLEND (reportedly around ¥800) and espresso-based drinks like a milk-forward latte (around ¥1,000). The counter also sells scones from 35MM as a simple pairing.
Philocoffea started from a small speciality stand in Funabashi and has attracted a global following for Kasuya’s precise brewing and bean curation. The Omotesando location positions that craft right in the heart of Tokyo’s trendiest streets, aiming to “awaken Tokyo” with high-quality, straightforward coffee experiences.
