KFC Japan Launches “Melty Tsukimi” Egg Burgers with Triple-Egg Treat

As autumn approaches, KFC Japan is celebrating the beloved Tsukimi (moon-viewing) season with a brand-new “Melty Tsukimi” (とろ~り月見) menu. This exciting release brings egg lovers five tasty treats starting August 27, 2025, with a special early preview available from August 20 at seven select stores.

What’s on the menu?

KFC is doubling down on the “melty” and “egg-y” flavours this year:

  • Tsukimi Cheese Filet Burger – A gooey, cheesy classic with even richer textures.
  • Tsukimi Twister – A wrap-style twist with teriyaki sauce, egg yolk sauce, and a fried egg.
  • Omochi Custard Tsukimi Pie – A sweet, creamy custard meets chewy mochi inside a warm pie.
  • Tamago Tappuri Tartar (“Tartar with Loads of Egg”) – A chicken cutlet layered with extra egg and tartar sauce for an added eggy punch.
  • Triple Tsukimi Burger – The star of the show: three fluffy fried-egg-style omelettes stacked high, plus 1.5× the tartar sauce. First sold early from August 20 at seven outlets, then nationwide with the full line-up from August 27.

Fun Campaign: “Human Eggification Project”

KFC Japan rolled out a playful campaign called the “Human Eggification Project” to promote the series. The spokesperson? Meme star Nakayama Kinniku, dubbed the Chief Tamago Officer (CTO), delighted fans at the launch event in a dramatic egg-themed outfit. He also stars in a concept video for the campaign, embracing his egg obsession with muscle-powered enthusiasm.
