HUNTERxHUNTER Volume 38 Released
The long-awaited Volume 38 of HUNTER×HUNTER, the popular manga by Yoshihiro Togashi, has finally been released on September 4th. This marks the first new volume in almost two years since Volume 37 was published in November 2022. To commemorate the occasion, a special video focusing on the formation of the infamous Phantom Troupe has been unveiled on Shonen Jump’s official YouTube channel.
The brief, yet captivating 1-minute and 26-second video reveals the origin story of the Phantom Troupe, a notorious group of thieves central to the HUNTER×HUNTER universe. For those looking to grab something extra, select bookstores across Japan are offering limited-edition illustrated cards featuring the Phantom Troupe. You can check the participating stores here.
Additionally, HUNTER×HUNTER fans are in for a treat as the first five chapters of each major story arc are now available for free online. This campaign is running in the lead-up to the next serialized chapter, which is set to appear in the 45th issue of Shonen Jump on October 7th.
A Glimpse into Volume 38’s Storyline
The latest volume continues the chaotic mafia conflict aboard a ship heading toward the Dark Continent. As the tensions between the three mafia groups escalate, the Phantom Troupe joins the fray in pursuit of their long-time nemesis, Hisoka. In the midst of this conflict, one of the troupe’s key members, Nobunaga, reminisces about the group’s early days and how they came together.
With Volume 38 now available, fans are left eagerly awaiting news of the release date for Volume 39, which has yet to be announced.
